Prayer Cards

These cards are the size of business cards and can easily fit into your wallet or purse. On each of them is a Scriptural promise or word of comfort or encouragement. I use them on my hospital visits and leave one behind with each patient. They have found it helpful to have the scripture in hand, and not just read to them.

I also regularly use these in counseling, and in my weekly birthday and anniversary cards to our church family. I hope you will find them useful as well. I have compiled more than 100 of the most useful verses into one place.

Promises and Comfort
God has given to us over 7,000 promises in the Word of God. These are like pearls, jewels, and precious stones stored in our Heavenly Father’s treasure chest. Some are old and some are new. Discovering new promises is an exciting thrill for the new believer, and uncovering old forgotten or misplaced promises renews the heart.

Jesus said it was so. Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old. – Matthew 13:52 A prospector upon finding a vein of gold carefully marks the spot then goes to the land agent to stake his claim. Praying the promises of God is like "staking claim" to what is rightfully yours.

Peter discovered this wonderful treasure and assures us that they are for us and to our children, and our children’s children forever. Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature…

The promises of God are for you! They should be searched, uncovered, memorized, meditated on, shared with others and prayed before the throne of God. How do you pray God’s promises you ask? By reading or stating the promise of God back to him and telling him you are now laying claim to that inheritance by faith.
