Paul's Letter to the Colossians

Colossians is another of Paul's prison epistles. He wrote it while in prison in Rome. It is closely affiliated with his letter to Philemon, a slave owner who lived in Colossea.Paul sent this letter by the hand of one of his coworkers along with the personal letter to Philemon. Philemon's slave, Onesimus, had stolen money are run away, a crime punishable by death under Roman law. Yet, in God's mercy Onemimus ended up meeting Paul and finding Christ as his Savior. We can only speculate how that encounter came about. Perhaps Onesimus was arrested for another crime and put in the same cell with Paul. Paul encouraged Philemonand the church at Colossea to receive Onesimus as a brother in the Lord.

The letter to the church in Colossea was to correct the false teachings that had infiltrated the church.

This Epistle is full of significant verse to remember. Mark down those key verse as you read try to commit them to memory.
