Pastor Dick LaFountain
READING THROUGH THE NEW TESTAMENT IN 260 DAYS, ONE CHAPTER PER DAY.
The Gospel of Mark is the first Gospel that was written. Mark, or known in Acts as John Mark was the author. He had been the translator for Peter in his missionary journeys and was familiar with all the stories he told. He was present at the crucifixion of Peter. Shortly after Peter's death the church at Rome implored him to write down his recollections of the stories Peter told of Jesus. This then was circulated to the churches andbecame known as THE GOSPEL OF MARK.
