An Invitation to Experience God
by Rev. Richard W. LaFountain

Knowing God is not about information. Knowing God is not an intellectual pursuit. It is in fact a pursuit of God himself. For millenia God-hungry men and women pursued God in quite places, often called "the wilderness." He was not pursued in the cities, or in the universities. He is to be found in the quiet place where His "still small voice" can be heard.

When is the last time you heard His Voice? He is not in the earthquake, the wind, or the fire, but in the gentle whisper. Elijah found him in his wilderness pursuit only after he gave up on the noisy pursuits where most think God will be found. Why do you think God chose to reveal his glory to Moses on a mountain alone? Why do you think Jesus went into the wilderness to pray? Why was it that the Apostle John received "The Revelation" on the silent island of Patmos? It is where God reveals himself to us. That revelation of God's glory is available to every one of us.

We want to invite you, and challenge you to meet God face to face. God is waiting for you in the secret place of the Most High. (Psalm 91:1) There is a reason God invites us in Psalm 46:1 to "Be still and know that I am God."

Our goal on this web site is to encourage you to pursue God in the quiet place, whether that is in the real wilderness, or in a backyard prayer hut like Jonathan Edwards, or in the closet of prayer as Jesus commanded, we want you to find the Lord! He is not hiding. He is waiting. Like a deer in the forest he waits in silence for you to sneek up on him. Those who seek him find him.
