How It All Began
"In 1722, Count Ludwig von Zinzendorf established the Moravian colony called
Herrnhut. Wednesday, August 13. 1773 at 11 a.m. they experienced a dramatic
outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which they called 'our pentecost' at which
time they established 'The Lord's Watch', a 24-hour prayer meeting which
lasted 100 years! They went on to send out hundreds of missionaries, taking
the gospel all around the world. This marked the birth of the modern
missionary movement.
In this time when there is an extraordinary outpouring of the Holy Spirit
throughout the world, the Lord is calling His people to 'stand in the gap'
and pray for leaders, our nation and the global ministries. 'The Lord's
Watch' is a response to that call."
